You know how your just walking down the road or driving to work and that little voice wispers
in you ear and all of a sudden you have a revelation. lol Well I've decided to record some of those moments here.
11/15/02 My Birthday; something
to think about, we are getting older but do we have anything to show for it. Knowlege, wisdom, what? On my way
to work today I was thinking about Abraham and how he formed a covenant with God and so got a name change from Abram to Abraham
and thus the meaning of his name became the very promise that God had made. (father of many nations). Well I was
thinking how I had gone by the name Mike most of my life until I gave my life to Jesus and had started going by Michael my
birth name. Well the meaning of Michael is (He who is like the Lord). So today I was meditating on my name, the awesomeness
of what it meant. I realized that for me to be like the Lord I would really need to get to know Him. I also
realized that every time someone called my name they were making a confession over my life. What an awesome responsibility,
to be like the Lord. I welcome with open arms.
11/10/02 - The word of God teaches us that we will have what we say. So why does
it seem that many times that isn't what happens. Well, heres the deal. This scripture is not a matter of faith, it is
a law from God. You will have what you say, bad or good. The problem is that many of us run our mouths without thinking about
what we are saying. What we mean by what we say doesn't matter. It is the actual words that count. So God turns the power
down on the power of our words to protect people. Think for just a moment about some of the things you say just joking around.
The other day I caught my self doing this very thing. A friend at work had played a little joke on me, but was not there at
the time. I found myself saying, joking mind you, the so and so is dead meat. What would have happened if I had full
power in my words and I got what I say. Exactly, my friend would be gone. So God is waiting for our love walk to grow and
for us to control our tongues. When God can trust us to watch what we say then he will turn up the power.
10/2/02 - Faith comes from hearing and hearing by the word of God.
Now for years I have understood this to mean that as we read and hear Gods word our faith grows. Like the
hearing of the word waters and feeds it till it grows bigger. Then I was listening to Andrew Womack on the radio as he spoke
on this matter and suddenly realized that our faith is puny, what we need is Gods faith and as we read His word he imparts
that faith to us through the reading of His word.
10/3/02 - Many people complain about having problems, especially Christians.
They think that because they are Christians that they should be free of problems. Heres the deal. Life is all about
solving problems. It is through solving problems that we learn and grow. The difference is that as a Christian we can draw
upon the Holy spirit to help us to solve those problems and as we continue on ever moving forward God is with us.
